Colkirk CofE Primary Academy Recognised by the FA for Their Equal Opportunities in Girls Football

Colkirk CofE Primary Academy have been recognised by the Football Association for giving equal access to girls through girl’s football club. Mrs Amy Garner signed the school up to participate in the campaign #letgirlsplay to get 63% of UK schools offering girls football to 75% of schools and this was achieved at Colkirk CofE Primary Academy.
Last week, we received a trophy which stated that we had succeeded in our mission for Colkirk CE Primary Academy and were one of the many schools within the UK. The trophy came directly from the director of women’s football and the team at St George’s Park which is very exciting!
We would like to thank Mrs Amy Garner for her tenacity to ensure that our small school gets as many opportunities within sport as possible, for both girls and boys. However, in this instance particularly we would like to thank Mrs Amy Garner for putting this in place for our girls and increasing their desire and opportunity to play football.
