April 23, 2024
Pupils from Swaffham Church of England Primary Academy, part of Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust (DNEAT) enjoyed a special visit from PC Johnson from Norfolk Police.
Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 children from Swaffham Primary Church of England Primary Academy learnt about the important jobs the police do and were taught about road safety including the ‘stop, look, listen’ phrase.
The children tried on different types of police hats and were able to ask questions that included how PC Johnson became a Police Officer, what the best part of his job was and what the different parts of his uniform were for.
Mrs Laura McWilliam, EYFS KS1 Lead from Swaffham Primary Church of England Primary Academy said: “The children enjoyed their experience with PC Johnson. We were delighted that Norfolk Police could help us provide hands-on real life learning experiences for our children. They absolutely loved it and were so happy to have the chance to sit in the back of the Police car. They have even produced some brilliant writing about the visit. We are very proud of our relevant, broad and balanced curriculum in school. Last term we had the fire engine visit too which again, the children loved!”
